About Taryn
Taryn McCabe is a maker and a shaker! She studied jewelry making and art in Florence, Italy. Taryn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. After undergrad she moved to Aomori, Japan where she worked with the world famous artist Takashi Kitamura helping construct paper floats for the Nebuta Festival.
Later, she moved to London, England where she studied shoemaking at Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion. She worked with footwear companies Clarks and L.K. Bennett during her time in London.
In 2006 she returned home to the states and bicycled across the USA. Then she went on to pursue her MFA at San Francisco State University.
Taryn has taught classes in art and jewelry for decades. She was the Design Lead at Beaducation, an innovative, online jewelry education company. She co-authored a book, New Stamped Metal Jewelry and loves to teach classes.
When she is not working on crafty projects, she can be found spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, biking, and playing with her two awesome children.
