What is your kiddo doing the first Monday of Thanksgiving break (other than playing on devices and watching movies)? Why not sign them up for a holiday workshop, where they can create a gift for a family member? They will create a beautiful ‘quilted’ ornament, while having fun with other peers!
Allow yourself to do some Thanksgiving prep without kids in the house! This workshop is a one day event, November 24th from 9am-2pm. The day includes selecting from colors and patterns of fabric to craft an amazing ornament. Kids will learn how to fold, pin and layer to make a unique hanging decoration, similar to the one pictured.
All supplies and tools are provided. The day will include snacks, dance breaks, a walk to the neighborhood park (to stretch our legs), games and hot cocoa. All you have to pack is a bag lunch, water bottle and warm layers for your child. This workshop includes kids ages 7-15.
The event is hosted by Pacifica artist Taryn McCabe and Mel McCabe (4th grade teacher at Cabrillo). These sisters have been crafting for more than 45 years and have enjoyed passing on their expertise to their own children. Now they are ready to share their holiday crafts with the neighborhood children of Pacifica and beyond.
Once you sign up you will receive an email with the location and a form for you to fill out so the McCabe sisters can learn more about your child.
